MUSCAT – Dr Arif Jahan addressed the topic of ‘Pre-conception care’ at a recently held Doctrain highlighting the importance and latest developments in preconception care. Over 70 members of the local medical fraternity attended the CME.
Preconception care is recognized as a critical component of health care for women of reproductive age. Improving preconception health can result in improved reproductive health outcomes including addressing low birth weight, premature birth, etc. Preconception care and awareness will help to detect, treat, and help women modify behaviors, health conditions, and to risk factors that contribute risk, before pregnancy.” explained Dr Arif Jahan.
The aim of preconception care is to prepare your body for pregnancy, birth and beyond.
A woman's health during her pregnancy is a major factor which will decide the outcome

Reputed Paediatric & Neonatal consultant joins MPH
MUSCAT – Dr. Amjad Iman has joined Muscat Private Hospital as Consultant Paediatrician & Neonatologist on full time basis. Before joining Muscat Private Hospital, Dr. Amjad had worked in Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children, an internationally recognized centre of excellence in provision of specialist tertiary children’s care. Dr. Amjad had worked as Consultant Paediatrician / Neonatologist at King Fahd University Teaching Hospital, Al – Khobar, K.S.A. He also worked as Consultant Paediatrician in busy district hospitals in NHS for more that four years.
Dr. Amjad obtained his membership (Paediatrics) from Royal college of Physician (MRCP), London in 1995 followed by membership from Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH) in 1996. He was trained in different subspecialties at Sheffield Children’s Hospital & Queen Mary Hospital for children Carshalton, Surrey. He worked as Clinical Lecturer / Senior Registrar in Paediatric at University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff where he did teaching & research along with clinical work with eminent academics & professors in Paediatrics & Child Health.

A graduate from Madras University, India with initial post graduate training from the prestigious Madras Medical College, Madras India. Dr Arif Jahan has 23 years of clinical and teaching experience in India, Ireland and Saudi Arabia.
In addition to her experience, Dr. Arif Jahan has special interest in high risk obstetrics, operative gynaecology and Gynaec endoscopic procedures namely Laparoscopy, hysteroscopy and Colposcopy.
