spoke on the importance of the role of the cardiologist in the

As part of its 5th Anniversary Celebrations, Muscat Private Hospital invited Mohammed Abdullah Al-Hajry to the hospital on the anniversary date of the launch of the hospital on 24th November. Mohammed was the very first patient to receive treatment in the hospital when it first opened. To honour his special place in MPH history, Mohammed was presented with a complimentary consultation token, a commemorative mug and chocolates from the Hospital Director, Malcolm Hughes. |

Muscat Private Hospital participated in the Eid Exhibition organized by Dr Al Ata’a to help raise funds for the needy. The exhibit took place at Hyatt Hotel on the 24th & 25th of October 2005. The evening was a great success and the funds raised go to the charity group which sponsors a great many projects. |

As part of the hospital Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign which started on 17th September more than 20 staff members from Muscat Private Hospital participated in the Breast Cancer Awareness Walk on 1st October. The Walk was arranged by the NACA group (The National Association For Cancer Awareness). Their logo for this year was “Be Aware Show You Care”. The event was a great success with more than 3,000 people of all different ages and nationalities participating in the walk. Muscat Private Hospital donated two Well Woman Package coupons for the lucky draw held after the Breast Cancer Awareness Walk. |

Muscat Private Hospital (MPH) was requested to conduct a scientific meeting at the Nizwa Hospital on Thursday, 8th September 2005 for their Annual Regional Meeting. The presentation was an “Update in Assisted Reproduction Technology”. The seminar was run by Dr. Majida Al-Irhayim (Head of Assisted Conception Unit, MPH), Dr. Najwa Saif (Infertility Consultant, MPH), Dr. Mostafa A. Nabi (ER/Family Medicine Physician, MPH), Zainab Al-Saadeh (Embryologist, MPH) and Maha Hajjar (Sales & Marketing Co-ordinator, MPH).
Presentations covered different topics such as: Guideline & Ethical Considerations in Assisted Conception by Dr. Majida Al Iryahim, Ovulation Induction & Controlled Ovarian Stimulation by Dr. Najwa Saif, Management of Various forms of Male Infertility by Dr. Mustafa A. Nabi and Laboratory Procedures in Intra-Uterine Insemination & In-Vitro Fertilization by Zainab Saadeh.
The meeting was a great success with over 140 doctors and others in attendance from different regions such as Salalah, Sur, Ibra and others, and based on the feedback received, the seminar which was very much appreciated by all. |

During the Careers Fair, students were able to meet with professionals and employers, covering a wide range of occupations, asking a variety of questions with regards to each career. MPH was represented there (for Doctors) by Dr. E.B.S. Ramanathan; (for Physiotherapy) by Bodil Stene; and (for Nursing), by Sarah Andrews and Joanne Connolly. |

Muscat Private Hospital (MPH) and Al Mar’a magazine organized a unique informative and interactive Forum about Male and Female Infertility. Not being able to conceive a child could be a blow to many couples. But today thanks to the advancements in the field of medicine, infertility can be cured.
At the Forum which took place on February 3rd 2005 at the Inter-Continental Hotel, Dr. Majida Al- Irhayim, Senior Consultant from MPH’s Assisted Conception Unit, talked about female infertility and Dr. Mustafa Abdel Nabi, Family Medicine Physician discussed the male sexual dysfunction related to male infertility and implant testosterone which is exclusively done at MPH. |
