Senior Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon

A specialist in knee surgery, arthroscopy and knee replacement, deformity correction, limb lengthening, hip surgery and hip replacement, Dr. Sultan Al Maskari trained as a doctor in St. Andrews University in Scotland and later pursued his MBChB in Glasgow University, Scotland.

Registered with the UK General Medical Council since 1991, Dr. Sultan joined the Orthopaedic and Trauma Specialist Register in 2002. In addition to the Orthopaedic training in Liverpool, UK, he also underwent special training in total hip and total knee replacement training at Wrightington Hospital with Mr. Martyn Porter (the home of total hip replacement).

Dr. Sultan then returned to Oman and started practicing as a Senior Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Khoula Hospital with special interest in diseases of the knee and its surgical treatment such as arthroscopy and total knee replacement. Affiliated with the Member of the British Orthopaedic Association and Member of the AO Alumni Association, Dr. Sultan has conducted numerous workshops and courses and made short visits to specialist centres to train doctors on specific procedures in hip surgery in France, Germany and Austria.

Dr. Abdullah M. Al-Harthy

Senior Consultant Surgeon - Hand Surgery & Orthopaedic

Graduated from Glasgow University Medical School, Scotland. He underwent postgraduate Orthopaedic training in the UK and thereafter specialist fellowship training in Hand Surgery and Orthopaedic Trauma in the USA.
Dr. Al-Harthy is specialized in treating conditions of the upper extremity such as hand & wrist injuries, and congenital hand deformities. Treatment of all painful conditions of the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder, in addition to the Orthopaedic disorders.
He is fully registered with the General Medical Council to practice in the UK. He is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, and of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is also Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, UK.

Senior Consultant Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon

Dr. Tariq Amin Sheikh is a well known Orthopaedic Surgeon in Oman having joined the Ministry of Health in 1986 who is  now working as Senior Consultant in Khoula Hospital.  Although involved in the care of patients with polytrauma and other general orthopaedic problems, Dr. Sheikh’s main interest is in Paediatric Orthopaedics, dealing with injuries to children, obstetric palsy, congenital anomalies and correction of skeletal deformities.  He also has a keen interest in treating handicapped children with cerebral palsy and all those affected with various neuromuscular problems.

With a particular interest in Osteosynthesis, in the field of trauma and musculoskeletal surgery, Dr. Sheikh has lately been selected by the Association of Osteosynthesis in Switzerland as a tutor and lecturer for the Association’s courses.
